What happened
In October 2016, the adult entertainment company Friend Finder Networks suffered a massive data breach. The incident impacted multiple separate online assets owned by the company, the largest of which was the Adult FriendFinder website alleged to be "the world's largest sex & swinger community". Exposed data included usernames, passwords stored as SHA-1 hashes and 170 million unique email addresses. This incident is separate to the 2015 data breach Adult FriendFinder also suffered. The data was provided to HIBP by dehashed.com.

What was exposed
Email addresses: The email address you used to register or log in. It is the most common field in breaches because it doubles as your username on most sites.
Passwords: The secret you use to sign in, stored by the breached service either in plain text, in a scrambled form called a hash, or encrypted. How it was stored decides how quickly it can be recovered.
Spoken languages: The languages listed on your profile or account settings, collected by dating apps, job sites, travel services and customer support systems.
Usernames: The handle or login name you chose for an account, which may be public on forums, games and social platforms or used privately to sign in.
